Individuals Who Had to Find New Careers Because of COVID19 & Recognizing Black Fiction Writers

I have several friends who were forced to find new careers because of COVID. The funny about this is...they are happier in their new careers versus their old jobs.  There are so many talented black writers, it's finally good to see some of them get recognized.  'I had to start my future': Workers who lost jobs because of COVID-19 find new careers in these fields https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2020/10/22/jobs-near-me-unemployed-workers-find-work-these-fields-amid-covid/3714756001/ SOURCE:  Paul Davidson, USA Today 100 Black novelists and fiction writers you should read, from Abi DarĂ© to Zora Neale Hurston https://www.usatoday.com/picture-gallery/entertainment/books/2020/08/20/100-black-novelists-you-should-read-abi-dare-zora-neale-hurston/3299705001/ SOURCE:  USA Today

My Friend Quit Her Job Due to Stress & COVID

The unemployment rate is still pretty high. Thousands of people have been furloughed or laid off.  There are also people who are "voluntarily" leaving their jobs because they are afraid of contracting COVID.  Those who have made the decision to chose their health over their job are probably going to catch a lot of flack from people on the outside looking in. You see, these people will holler that those quitting their jobs are not scared of COVID, they are just lazy and want to collect those "enhanced" unemployment benefits.  In my view, some of the ones making the criticism don't want hospitality workers to quit because who will be there to check them out at the grocery store? She started out as a clerk and worked her way up to ...

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why -- they're only 23 years old! How much experience do these employers think they have? In order to save money, Tammie sold her car, moved into a one bedroom apartment and sold some clothes on Ebay. Thankfully, she was "renting" the...
